Halifax Spring Chess Festival Post-Event Report

The Halifax Spring Chess Festival ran April 11-13, 2025 at Saint Mary’s University. It featured three tournaments:
- Open Championship with a Crown section that was both CFC- and FIDE-rated, also an U1700
- Rapid Championship split in to two sections, including a Junior Section that was both CFC-Quick- and CMA-rated
- Blitz Championship in a double-round, one all-open section.

Open Championship
Crown Section (80% of flyer-stated value)

3rd place- a 3-way tie between Calix Marchand, Michelle Zhang, and Brian Zhang ($26.67)
U1700 Section (70 % of flyer-stated value)
