Bluenose Chess Club – Dartmouth

Dalhousie Chess Club – Halifax

The club’s mission is to provide students and the Halifax community with a stimulating environment in which to play chess and socialize. The club is open to players of all ages and skill levels. Youth looking for more opportunities to play chess are encouraged to attend. Outside regular meetings, DCC hosts chess improvement workshops and rapid tournaments also open to the public. Membership is open to school age children who have some knowledge of the game. Parents and other adults who like to play club members are welcome. The Chess Club is sponsored by Halifax Regional Library, there is no membership fee.

Cape Breton Chess Club – Sydney, Cape Breton

Time/Date: The Club meets weekly from 2:30 to 4:30 pm on alternating Tuesdays.

Annapolis Royal Chess Club – Annapolis County

The Annapolis Royal Chess Club meets on a weekly basis. The Club also organizes a fun chess tournament. All are welcome, regardless of age or level of play. Players are invited to bring a personal chess clock, board and pieces if they have them. Otherwise, equipment is provided.

Middleton Chess Club – Annapolis County (Currently Closed, Looking For Meeting Location)

We lost our location and am currently looking for a new location to meet in the Middleton area. When operating, the Middleton Chess Club welcomes chess players of all ages and strength. There is no charge and if you don’t know how to play, you can learn how to play chess, how to write down your moves and how to use a chess clock. if you want, you can play in our annual fun Winter chess tournament for a $10.00 fee. You contact the others in your tournament division to organize where and when you want to play your tournament game (you can play as many games as you want before you play your tournament game). We encourage players to bring their own chess set and clock if they have one as it’s always interesting to see the various chess sets and clocks. If you don’t have chess equipment, no worries, we always have a chess set to use.
